A late 19th century English wire fusee movement probably from an NER clock used at York. Now in a traditionally made mahogany drop dial case built in 2005 and in good condition. Overall height: 13¼". The eight-day movement between rectangular plates with anchor escapement. Dial, cast brass bezel with silvered sight ring and blued spade hands all original to the movement. The 8" dial bearing the shadow of the number 6578, now covered by a secondary dial written L.N.E.R 6578. Records indicate that this clock was used in the Ladies Waiting Room, No. 14, on York station. Complete with replaced pendulum, winder and door key. £400-600 |
