A nameplate, RIVER PLYM, from the GWR 3300 Bulldog Class 4-4-0 built at Swindon in May 1903, originally numbered 3428 but renumbered 3376 under the GWR 1912 renumbering scheme and named after the Devon River entering the English Channel at Plymouth. Just surviving into BR days, it was withdrawn from Didcot on 27 September 1948 and cut up at Swindon Works. The front restored, the back of the beading pin marked R3428, indicating that this is the right hand side plate. £8000-10000 |
